36 Degrees.
The temperature got up to 36 degrees on Friday! Record temp for the dead of winter in my book. I was so excited I decided to wear a skirt (with tights of course, I'm not that crazy) to work that day. Wohoo! It felt like Spring was just on the horizon and that this dead, chilling, negative temp winter was over...I walked outside to head home at 5:15pm and my back was actually sweating with my winter coat, scarf, and gloves on. I could seriously take a deep inhale breath, through my nose, without the burning feeling of freezing snot in my nasal cavity! It even smelled like a fresh, spring day! And then...reality set in today when the wind started to blow and it was so cold it felt like my face was being punctured by millions of tiny glass shards. Why do I live where the winters are always the longest season? It's come to that point of winter when it's hard to imagine green anything...trees get green leaves...there's green grass? Spring is only two months away in all actuality (look it up here)...but isn't it amazing how God can turn the earth into something so beautiful in such a short amount of time?! I can't wait for the trees in our backyard to have life on them again! And the only weather we have is either hot or thunderstorms! Oh I can just faintly remember what that feels like!
Those trees behind us...
...are these...

The Pieces.
I have to be honest...Math is not a strong subject of mine. Why am I telling you this? Because...I picked out my 30 pieces for my 30 for 30 today and somehow, just somehow, my 30 turned into 32. Sadly my photos were already taken and in photoshop when I noticed the miscount. So...I have eliminated one pant and one shirt from the photos I have already taken. So please, don't mind the annoying squiggle I have written over these two pieces!
So here they are ladies and gentlemen...my 30 pieces! In just 8 days these pieces will transform into outfits! This'll be fun!

30 for 30
It's a challenge...that I've accepted! Go here to Kendi Everday to read about the challenge. And if you feel like it, join me! I think it'll be fun! I will be posting my 30 items from my closet on Monday, January 24th so be on the look-out for that! Then, beginning February 1st I will start posting my remixes of my 30 items into 30 different outfits (even though there's only 28 days in February!). I'm going to be honest...one of the rules of this challenge is "You can NOT shop for 30 days"! Ouch. Are you for serious?! That is a struggle for me...I mean, I can't even buy a shirt from a thrift store for $3.00! But no. I must contain myself...it needs to be done.
So here's to the 30 for 30 challenge! Wo-hoo!

Nostalgia.
I found some pictures from the past in my drawers last night. Let's just say...style and/or fashion were not words that had yet entered my vocabulary. Proof you need? Well let me just show you...

Makeover.
She got a makeover! The blog, that is. There's a little more tweaking that needs to be done, but overall the look is there! It's a new year, these are new times, and there are new things on the horizon for Amanda! I'm so excited to fill you in on what's going on in my life, but I may have to wait a little longer just so I don't jump the gun before anything is official! So that's a little tease to keep you coming back!

Whoo.
I wrote a check today and instantly got the date wrong. I even kept reminding myself of the date and year, yet, still wrote 12-31-10. Darn. So Happy New Year everyone! 2010 was...eventful. I will do a recap of the year soon! But I have a feeling 2011 is going to be quite the year! I'm excited to see what the Lord has in store! So, I have been brainstorming on a new blog name and I have come up with a few possibilities. But the final will have to wait...maybe a few months. Unless I think of a better one in the mean time...but regardless...it's still coming!
Happy New Year!
